Steering pops/stuck
« on: Apr 07, 2013, 03:19:23 PM »
86 with ifs- when making hard turns steering gets tuff then pops and locks in that position until i force it back. Is this the sign of bad tie rod ends? Front end is new besides the tie rod ends and ball joints. Whats causing this?

Does it do this in both directions? Can you tell if anything is binding or hitting in the steering system?

I believe its on left turns only but i could be wrong. Havent tried to make it do it too much. I cant tell ifs its hitting something or not. The turns its done it was pulling into a parking space and backing out of driveway and turning to straignten out.

It wont pop unless you have weight on it, turn and hit a bump

Hahah well found the problem. When upgrading my steering dampner to a larger size, i have a bolt rubbing on the bottom of a bracket. I just need to cut a notch so it'll slide right. Thanks for the help, it looked like i needed to grease the stops anyways. Thanks again
