I am pretty sure I have already read about this but when searching I could not find the answer to my question.
the question; what is the need to pack the knuckle full of grease after rebuild?
as long and the birf is packed good with grease that should be sufficient.
makes break down or maint a pain to deal with that nasty stick mess.

can some one please explain?
thank you

i pack both trunions good, install the bottom in the knuckle, and put a good 2 finger slap on top of it, and do the same to the top.

When i do wheel bearings I pack the bearings themselves, and fill the center section of the hub that dips down full of grease also.
