88 4 runner rear disk brakes
« on: Feb 07, 2013, 01:18:40 PM »
I'm currently building my rig and have both rear drum brake hardware and rear disk. Question is for the disk setup I'm missing the caliper brackets, does anyone have feedback on making them from scratch for the Monty Carlo calipers and pros/ cons for a daily driver if I should just sell the calipers and just stick with drums. It will be a trail rig on occasion. Currently I have the solid axle swap with high steer, Molly axles, 5.29's with locker up front and spool in rear sitting on 35's. thanks

If you do the disk brake setup on the rear.  You will need the brackets of course, but you will also need to upgrade to the 1" master cylinder, and put in residual valves inline, and would need a E-Brake setup.   Just something to think about.
