Topic: Stolen 1984 XtraCab

My Rig was stolen from the Humboldt State Unviersity Parking lot between midnight and 8am. Rig was a 1984 Red Xtracab, 35x12.5 MTRs w/ Kevlar, 15 in black steelies, ARBs front and rear w/ 5.29s and only one run on em, Brand new 22R (daul timing chain,268 cam, LCE headers, no cat, flowamster 40) only 120 miles on it, internal roll cage, tube bumpers front and rear, G52 tranny has the new marlin short throw on it, brand new Marlin super HD clutch, Kenwood deck w/ rockford fosgate sub, All windows tinted except windshield, marlin, URD, LCE stickers on back and xtracab windows, front axle housing is basically stock with one small tube brace on it, Bed has por15 black paint but tailgate is rusted as hell, rear fenders are trimmed and fronts have some decent marks from tire contact.

Im a broke college kid who put all of his money into his rig, any info on this thing would be awesome. i spent the last 4 years building this truck up getting ready to wheel and now shes gone. I dont have the funds to start another project or the time and resources, my only hope to stay wheeling is to recover this truck.

Cash reward for any information at all. This thing could be anywhere from humboldt county to the bay, it was parked not a minute from the 101 and i assume the theif skipped town the minute he got my rig started.

PS the Shell is not on the truck anymore

Damn, I didnt know it was your truck that got jacked. Thats a much better description than what Id heard.

My eyes are open in the Ferndale/Fortuna area but im headed out of town Monday. Ill pass this info onto the local clubs.

Eureka is my hometown, so I'll post this on my facebook and see if my buddies have seen it since yesterday. I'll ask them to look out and I'll also look out in the Chico Area as well. I feel your pain man.

I'm not very familiar with Arcata, but in Eureka I'd look in the neighborhood across from the Winco.

Also, if you have a buddy with a truck, maybe go to the ferndale riverbar (the farm entrance) and search around the quad track area or bonfire area. In my years, I've only seen one abandoned truck there, but could be worth a shot.

Could you post your license plate number? Maybe more pics if you have any.

Plate number 2M12645. its got the old skool Cali blue and yellow plates. Been down to the fenrdale bar twice now and got buddies always surfing samoa looking out for it dumped on the beach.

I got a cash reward for whoever finds the truck or the tweaker that stole it.   I would be satisfied with either

So heres the story. About 12 days after the rig was stolen i get a call from CHP saying they found my rig on the side of the road and its in perfect condition just missing the plates... 

the next day we head east to willow creek to recover the rig, we get to the tow yard and see far from a clean rig...


Tweakers did a number on this truck. There point of entry was smashing the wind-wing SR5 window. they custom wired the ignition after destroying my old one with a screwdriver, it appears they backed into a tree with the driver door open and thats why the front fender was destroyed as well as bent the out of my door hinges. Not to mention she rammed the front axle into a rock denting the housing right where the ring gear sits and bent living hell out of my tie rod
 
All electronics were stripped from the truck, very poorly, resulting in many broken original interior pieces. and the cab was full of random tweaker .

Engine was in no condition to be started when we found it, the air cleaner cover was stuffed under my passenger seat and many vac lines were pulled and or missing as well as the hi idle cam screw. It seemed as though the pregnant dog who stole it was too dumb to realize she ran it out of gas. the gas cap was in the bed in the pile of back there and the carb reeked of gas as it was obvious she was pouring it straight down the carb


Many small things were missing and or broken such as mirrors, windshield wipers, defrost stuff in dash, hood holder,bent tie rod etc.. But interestingly enough we managed to find a pay stub with a name on it! after multiple conversations with CHP and UPD we learned that this pregnant dog tweaker ASHLEY ROSE HAMRICK, has prior theft charges in the area, lives with her mom in willow creek and she had a court date the same day i recovered the truck which she missed, which was for some kind of felony probation. If anyone knows this person or ever comes in contact let me know. i will drive out to find this tweaker in a heartbeat.


Here is how the rig currently sits, engines running OK has a pretty bad backfire occasionally on decel and alot of popcorn backfires once off the gas. ARBs seem to be functioning still, took the rig out for a shakedown, they locked up and stayed locked while the  compressor wasnt cycling a ridiculous amount of times. needs a new front bumper as they trashed my old one, rear tube bumper held up fine was just pushed into the body a bit from where she backed the truck into a big dirt hill.

So glad you got it back man! but the tweaker sure did do a number, but atleast its all things that can be replaced in time when money permits. would suck loosing your rig to never see it again... but anyways very good that you got it back! keep us posted on the build

bad deal man, idk why people have to do that !  Its good you got it back and found out who did it though!  at least someone in the off-road community didnt steal it and strip the axles and wheels and tires off of it!

Glad it was recovered. I absolutely despise theivery. Maybe time to install a kill switch. My 85 stays in the garage 90 percent of the time. At least the other 10 percent I know it can't ne jacked by starting it and leaving. Good luck with the rebuild. Post up if you need any parts.

I personally just take my coil wire off my rigs when im away from them, or even somewat sketh

This truck had a kill switch on it. I have no idea if the tweakers bypassed it or if they just flipped the switch.and Not everyone has the luxury of keeping their rig in a garage. I have my antitheft devices on it but I will be damned if im sharing that information on the internet 

Heading up the rubicon area on friday for the week, hopefully gonna get some wheeling in on the rig and see what holds and what doesn't

Sweet deal. Glad you got her back and not totaled. F'in tweekers are everywhere up here. You have evidence that ASHLEY ROSE HAMRICK may have been associated with this, she has prior convictions... are the PD looking for her or are they going to try?

Sorry to hear that man. I live in Mckinleyville. I've seen your truck before I've always liked it. I'm constantly worried about that happening to my truck.
