Bolt it in and run it.  From what I've rwad,  it is based off a Marlin design (albeit an older design).

It's similar to tg adapter if I remember correctly. Run it till it blows then buy marlin.

thanks for the responses , its for my sons 4runner im building.  i figured since it works i was going to run it till i needed to replace it. what goes wrong with them. dont know much about mini truck stuff , i work mostly on cruisers. done a couple toybox installs in the past years but not a dual case with mini truck cases. if i do buy another adapter it wont be t/g . i dont like chinese crap. japanese is different.

I still have one, ive had it in three toys and still no issues! Its just got the single bearing on the couple as opposed to Marlins beefy double bearing setup.

Hello lc tpi,

It is a good adapter kit based on an older Marlin Crawler design as stated above. If you have it apart, then I recommend applying a generous amount of Marine-grade anti-seize to both the coupler and the input of the transfer case. This is because the coupler in these kits have a tendency to wiggle and grind against the splines of the input causing premature spline wear. The anti-seize helps prolong the life expectancy of the splines, especially in the case of low oil levels.

The wiggling I am talking about, rotation about it's axis, is illustrated in the following animation (single row bearing in black, coupler in white):
<a href="http://www.marlincrawler.com/docs/mc07/comp_axial.swf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" class="bbc_link bbc_flash_disabled new_win">http://www.marlincrawler.com/docs/mc07/comp_axial.swf</a>

As the coupler wears out, it will begin to look similar to this:

If your coupler looks a little like this, then give us a call :phone: I think we have some new old couplers in stock but I could be wrong also! >_<

As a vote of confidence, we still have just a few customers driving around using our Crawlers from 1994 that use this old design  But of course if given the choice I'd run the new improved MC design in a heart beat, but its cool to find some old parts and get out on the trail and wheel! :driving:

Regards,
BigMike

HA!  MC Dual adapter #246 here........I might have to call you for those spares Mikey!

Dustin, I've never had an issue with mine. Of course It's been mostly sitting the last 4 years. I did break the input shaft on my rear case once while showing off. When I took it apart to inspect it, the splined coupler still looked good on the crawl box.

I'm running a 4.3 Vortec and a 4L60E as well. If your son wheels like you do, It will last many years!

Tommy

Hmmmm I'm not so sure we can trust this member's reply. I think he has burned one too many tires in his days, and has probably hit his head on too many pieces of cement.
