i am in the market for some shocks. i was looking at the bilstein 7100 and 5150. obviously the 7100 is a better shock but for dd and frequent offroading which would be better. also what is the best valving for the 7100s. looking for the best shock for my money... ive found the 7100 for $170 and the 5150 for $100...if you know a cheaper place list it ...........

dsi(schaffers) said the 7100 would actually be a waste of $ for a rockcrawling rig if money matters to you.  maybe a resevoir 7100 on a truck that flys down woops thru the desert at speed, but otherwise its just a *bling* factor

check out the ones on marlin, all the other ones are for high speed racing

I run 5150's and am very happy with them. $170 per shock for the 7100's seems kinda steep. Does anyone run these for rockcrawling? Rather put that $$$ cash towards an exo-cage or something else you'll probably need. :gap:

The 5150s also have the side resivor, right?

Ah yup..

When I do my front suspension, I am going to go with these.
