On board air compressor
« on: Oct 22, 2012, 08:13:22 PM »
Hello  :help:

I have a '81 Toyota 4x4 modified with marlin crawler.

Should I install an onboard air compressor?

If so, how many psi? how many gallon tank capacity?

Can anybody make any reccomendations?

Thanks

Should you? Do you want to? They have many uses besides just filling up tires.
How big of a tank do you want? What do you have room for? Do you want to use a c02 tank, a electric compressor, a engine driven compressor, do you want to use air tools,
Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

What does mean?

I have a York AC compressor that has been converted for OBA use, works great, will run air tools.

shitlbuffout-A saying among 4x4 and off road enthusiasts. Its said after damage normally cosmetic to minor parts damage has occurred on there rig or vehicle. Shitlbuffout is :pokinit: will buff out as in the :pokinit: being the damage will buff as in painted over cleaned polished or "buffed" out.

Look up the PUMA 12v compressor. It blows the others out of the water and is cheaper. It filled my 37s from 5 to 30 pretty quickly. http://forum.ih8mud.com/camping-outdoor-gear/166969-puma-12v-compressor.html

The PUMA looks like a great little unit.  Where did you buy yours?
