I finally have started digging into my 82. I just finished redoing the valve cover and seal, oil pan and seal since both were leaking and needed to get taken care of. I bought the truck with a weber 32/36 and the whole time I've been doing basic maintenance I've been looking at all of the stuff NOT hooked up and still littering the engine bay. I am kind of a newb when it comes to carbs in general and I drive the truck over my 98 4runner....so I don't want to mess anything up. What can I ditch? I can have a pics of my bay up in a few days since I am currently doing the exhaust. New headers on the way and she's stuck in the hobby shop currently. If you can name the stuff removable without pics please list away. I will bounce it off my haynes and fsm and see what I can rip out.

BTW I am in Cali....but not tagged in Cali. I'm only here because I'm in the military so the smog stuff I really don't care about anyway.

It's been a year and a half since I bought the truck and I've lots of surprises out of her. During the last bit of junk that I re-did I found out I have a street cut cam from LC (hopefully the torque one) and upgraded valve train as well as the dual row timing chain set. I also discovered 5.29 gears in the diffs and I have an extra floating around my garage somewhere. Hopefully I can trade down to a 4.88 and roll with 33". I don't have any real desire to go bigger than that but first things first.

I found what I was looking for over on Yota tech. They have a great thread on it. Can't wait to clean everything up so I can see what's actually necessary. The truck has sucked up almost a grand just in ironing out little problems but she is starting to run a lot smoother and that's good news in my book.
