wireing problems

My battery keeps going dead.  I put a master switch to all wires going to positive on battery.  still kills my truck.  some one suggested i put one on the negitive side, WHY?

less wires on the neg side. butt if ya dones it right and it stills goes dead more likey your batt. gone.
charge it and then pull both cables, let it sit over night. if its dead change it.
