Ended up running to the lake last night last min  to do a little catfishing due to way too much peer pressure lol ended up catching this 4 1/2 pounder on a crawdad off the spillway launch ramp




Didnt get to do anything today since it was my grandmas birthday :|

I am off saturday and sunday and wouldn't be against catching something large 

They did up the flow on the trinity from 450ish to about 1100 cfs.  Had a local in the shop today and he said the fish should be on the move, but catching them will be a pita.  No worries, lots of stuff to do to get ready for deer/pigeon/grouse/quail seasons

we went to the cove with all the xmas trees in it last night and no luck at all, not even a bite!!

i'll ask rob again tomorrow what the word is if he can go.  Been a little preoccupied trying to get my ford to the tranny shop. Either way if you wana come down for it im all about it and will make it happen, just have to get to oroville and i'll take care of the rest.

Heath i went out last night up the middle fork by boat and we caught 10 but they were little dudes. crawlers and anchovies. I'll have to take you out by boat or somthing and get you on some more fish!

Heath im always down for fishing. Im going to be tied up for about a month and a half though here soon. I have a driver meeting in the morning to see when we are gonna start hauling rice.

honestly with all the fish we are catching and finding grapes in their stomachs im going to try grapes lol. damn people on the houseboats throwin crap in the water. hell i reeled in a big ole mass of grape stem today

Got my new reel i ordered in today, An Abu Garcia Revo Toro naCL60-HS http://abugarcia.com/products/reels/low-profile-baitcast-reels/revo/revo-toro-nacl

This thing is straight up BEAST. Casts a mile with absolutely no effort, Bearings in everything including the grips. It's just amazing what stuff can do when you spend a little more on some seriously quality gear. 

I bought it as a Salmon/steelhead,catfish,striper,large swimbait reel and i think it's going to be perfect.




Going to put it through the paces tomorrow on the lake if its not super windy.

Practice practice practice my friend! i could barely cast one last year but i just stuck with it and now im pretty damn decent at it. Maybe 1 or 2 backlashes in a day ( full 12+hour day) of fishing. I will say im pretty in love with this reel after giving it a bit of a work out this morning.  Only caught a couple bass but there was a tournament going so didnt get to do a whole lot =\

just under 4lbs and was 21" long.. Catfishing in oroville in about to pick up as the fish are moving in out of the deep. We swore that was going to be a 5-6+lb fish but when we cut him open we found the swimbladder was inflated as hell so he had just moved up from the deep. was also black as could be when he first caught it

Sweet!  I was kinda thinkin the same thing today too.  Tried fishing a usually good alps lake today but the level was low, felt the water and it was waaaay too warm, so I figure lakes will be warming quickly too.

Im with you bud ! im saving my pennies and im going to buy a willie drift boat.  fully loaded 17foot by 60 inch is 6 grand setup ready to rock. The feather is looking retarded good, when i was out steelheading the other day i was watching spring and fall run salmon jumping everywhere. They just bumped the river up to almost 6k CFS though from 4200 so its gotta be pretty blown out..  Going back out steelheading here in a few hours to check it out, I seriously cannot wait. Im so beyond obsessed this year with chrome that i need help lol
