electric provblem please help

 :smack:went to start my 82 pick up 22r truck but it shortout i checked the fuses under the dash but they were good and the batterry is good and cables are to what could it be??truck has no power at all cant find a main fuse if there is one

There are three wires coming off the positive lead at the battery . these are fusable links check for power . check connections on starter mainly the plug on wire.  might try tapping solenoid on starter` with small hammer.

If it happens again pour a little water on the terminals and try it. I had the same problem once . Clean your battery terminals or replace them if they dont tighten down enough.

How do you know its a short?
