What gas tank?
« on: Feb 24, 2005, 11:31:31 AM »
After a run to Death Valley this past weekend I realized that my 10gallon fuel tank just dont cut it, especailly since I only get 13.5mpg.  I am running a flat bed so I have a little more room than a stock truck but it is a short bed so the long 16 gallon tank wont fit between the crossmembers.  My brother in law Trackvino has a 16 gall sqaurish tank out of his old blazer that he parted out.  If it will fit up under there, will getting the tops switched that way it works with my truck be worth it?  What did you guys do?

Im running a 3rd gen gas tank turned sideways that sits behind my axle.  Ive never gotten close to hitting it as its sitting up there pretty high and my springs are inboarded which helps to protect it.  It has an 18 gallon capacity too.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

Besides mounting it what changes would I need to do to it, I was under the impression you needed to change the sender...? Or is that only when you are modifying a non toyota tank.
