I was just curious of who all  has done this swap and can it be done on an 83 Truck?  Can't seem to find the article?

Thanks in advance.

hey firekiller have you found any info on this yet?  There are a few posts about it, i guess it plugs right in, but you have to mod the lower mount slightly. But I have no idea what that means.  If you found anything out let me know   ;)

Found the article, but nothing specific on the swap into a first generation truck.  Still looking in the boneyards for the alternator.

I hope you are referring to the 3S-GTE, 5S-FE, or 4A-GZE engines because the Alternator on the 4A-GE was puny.

http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/100alt/index.html  Not sure which motor his came out of.  Guess I'll drop him an email to see.  Wish I could find out if this would work on a first generation Truck with the IC Regulator Alternator.  I might just have to do the swap to see if it will.

Thanks for the info Mike.
