I have the same set up and mine get pretty hot, keep in mind there is twice the amount of gears turning. The heat coming through the floor makes a nice hand warmer. oh and I haven't had any problems with mine.

First time I drove with mine it was around 120 miles non stop and it was summer. They were so hot, couldn't even touch them. Never had a problem with them though. Keep in mind anything that has gears will get hot.

I wouldn't really worry about it, I've been running mine for 6 months/ around 10k miles like that and no problems.
