rim comparison

1st pic is the 87 I was getting for the same price, but rusted to hell
2nd pic is the 84 ( obviously )

both pics are 15x8's w/ 33x12.50/R15LT's on them, I think the ones on the 87 are a better backspacing, though. Comments?

FATB0Y

well an 84 has got the straight axle right?  so you came out better off any way

Jared

what did you do about the 87 and do you have the 84 now?  lets go wheelin... what does the 84 need?
ah the beauty of a cuttin torch

well, it's been a while since I updated this thread, so here it goes:

-orange camo paintjob ( done )
-remove KC's from hood ( done )
-swap wheels & tires from 87 to 84 ( done )

I have the other engine tore down, the head milled, the valve cover is orange, I just need some help piecing it back together, since I haven't done one of these before, and I don't want to screw it up.

Also, 84Runner took pics on Sunday, just waiting on him to post them up  :yesnod:

I got a Chilton's, but I just don't want to screw it up, and keep having problems over and over again.

Hey, also remember that in Reply #7, comparing the widths of the wheels, that 87 has a wider rear axle, so that's why the tires seem to fit the bed better than on your 84. Hurry up and put that V6 axle underneath your 84! :_order: DO IT!

not really,,,I think 3rd gen is by far the best way to go,,stronger frame,,and FI..yea it needs a sas but whoopie..I think that is far less work then beefing up the front hanger mounts and doing the swap to fi..If I was to do it over again I would go that route fo sho..
