want to lower torsion bars on 86 4x4 truck.
« on: Jan 24, 2012, 11:00:24 AM »
What i would like to know is  stock height for 86 4x4 truck? I want to get the bars back to factory height to start with and then go from there.I assume they're cranked up because I weigh 215 and can't get much movement out of the front end at all by shoving down on it. Should I even worry about getting the bars back to stock, maybe just back them off 20 or 30 turns? The front end is so wore out I'm actually a little afraid to drive it anywhere. I can move the front steering components back and forth by about 4ins with the tires on the ground The inside on both front tires are very worn and the outside edges look almost new.  I'm going to completely rebuild the front end. The truck came with a 2in body lift on it and 31in tires.I may go to 235-85-16(32 I think,or very close) because I like taller skinny tires.I'm not crawlin or anything like that, just DD and to get into and out of where i hunt.
