« on: Feb 17, 2005, 03:55:29 PM »
I was wondering if anybody knows any cool places to go wheeling in nth GA??? I know about Beasley Knob and Rich mountain but never been to either. I heard that Rich mountain was closed and that Beasley Knob was pretty difficult. I'm looking for a place to go on sunday. If anybody knows anywhere else or has any info about Beasley please let me know.

Hey guys I'm in Athens so anywhere in Nth GA is about 2 hours max for me. That sucks that those places are closed right now. The winter is the best time to camp! I've never heard of stonewall falls. Maybe more people will post and we can find some new places!!

http://www.mountaintravelguide.com/4x4%20Trails/georgia/rabun/Oakey%20Mountain%20ORV%20Trail.htm

just found this:
This trail, open to ORV's with less than a 48-inch axle width, is excellent for a day of exhilarating rides. This trail is near Lake Burton and Lake Rabun.

might be too small.

this too:
http://www.mountaintravelguide.com/4x4%20Trails/georgia/Habersham/Locust%20Stake%20ORV%20Area.htm

The Locust Stake ORV Area covers about 1,000 acres that are designed as a place where users of all-terrain vehicles can find adventure and see example of multiple-use forest management.

Stonewall Falls is up off 985. Ive never been but know some people that have.

Rich Mt -closed they are making it a smooth dirt road

Anderson Creek/Amicalola Falls -closed to be reopened sometime this year Im sure it will not be as good as before.

Besely Knolb -Not open till april I think And Ive never been.

Nottley Lake- Up aroung Blairsville Never been.

There tons more. Most of the time If im going to go that far I just go on to Tellico. I did use to like Anderson creek it was a fun easy ride.
