3rz swap wiring
« on: Dec 23, 2011, 05:26:14 PM »
I have been searching for nearly 2 hours how and I havent foudn any solid info on what I need at all, Im not even sure where to look anymore.

I have downloaded both the 90-95 4runner FSM and the 95.5-97 Tacoma FSM off of the ttora website. I have looked through both but havent found any solid info. I need to know the pinouts for the IH1 and IH2 plugs that are in the pass kickpanel on the 90 harness and then I need the 1k2 and 1k3 (?) plugs that are also in the same spot but for the 96 tacoma 3rz harness. The wiring diagrams that are on both FSM's only show the actual wiring diagram for the ecu, and not the actual pinouts for both plugs on each harness that I need (the plugs go to the dash wiring that goes to the key switch, fuel pump circuit, starting circuit and all the gauges/dash lights.

Who knows what they are on both and/or where I can find this info?

I would use the web site techinfo.toyota.com its like ten bucks to use the site and they have every factory diagram you could want.

Well i just decided to just do the bare minimum to make it run off my harness. It wont be too bad because my buddy already had this in a 91 3.0 and most of the wires ive traced so far are ones that are the same colors as the IH1 and IH2 on my harness.

Eventually im going to do a Tacoma dash with all tacoma wiring. I like the taco dash much more than mine anyway. the 2nd gen runner/3rd gen dashs and gauge clusters blow dicks in my opinion

I got that membership and it is just the same :pokinit: you can get for free off  TTORA. Thanks though.

when i was doing my 3.4L swap i used the techinfo.toyota site and downloaded everything for both motors.

Used the ones off ttora.

and i had some factory wiring diagrams for the 3.0L

Every source i got the diagrams from were a little different.  and in one of those three locations i found what i needed

the ecu pinout is in the actual FSM or sometimes in the overall view in the EWD

Yeah i was hoping for the IK plug pinout, not the ecu.

I ended up just tracing each wire off the ECU diagram, starting diagram and the gauge cluster diagram. Wasnt too bad. took about a day to weed out all the wires needed in order to make it work.
