gears yet again

Hey guys know this topic is brought up all the time but i need a straight answer. I have an '84 4runner on 33's right now plan on going to 35's soon its my daily so i need a gear thats just as good off the road as it is on the road. Any help would be awesome .

Dr.Maxwe001 – well i have a 15 gal compressor now and if I gett he 60  and then use the 15 as a reserve that wil give me 75 gal  thats close to 80 isnt it ?

thats what i thought just wasn't sure about freeway driving

Is freeway dirving a pain with 5.29's with the rpm's or is just about the same as the set up i have now.

Its fine, I have a 92 3.0 35s and 529s, at 60mph i turn 2750 rpms

Oh ya thats not bad at all mine will probably higher cause i have a 22r but shouldnt be terrible. Thanks for the help man.

5.29 and 35's would be about 100rpm's higher than the stock set up of 4.10's and 28's.

If you want to see the difference in engine speed of different tire/gear combo's, the calculators here at  Auto Calculators and Marlin's Transmission Gear chart will give you the trans gears.

'90 black X-cab mod'd 3.0, 33's/4.88's, rear ARB, custom bumpers, sliders, safari rack, etc.
'91 Blue X-cab 22re, 35's/5.29's,Truetrac front, ARB rear, dual cases, and custom Safari flatbed, bumper, interior.

I like my 5.29s on the freeway. Let's my 22R pull hills and run great at about 75 or 80 mph. I wouldn't change them for nothing else.

you might be able to use 5th gear.   I have 5.29's and 35's and rarely use 5th. only on the interstate.
