Mickey Thompson Baja Claw
« on: Nov 01, 2011, 11:04:15 PM »
I just upgraded from my two seat 82 truck to a  :argue: "we need a truck to seat all of us" 4 runner.  Now that mama's happy every ones happy.  Actually I really like my new runner.  It only has about 1/4inch left of tread on the Baja claws.  So I have been looking to get new tires.  I really like the look and feel of the baja's and would like to get more.  The truck came with a brand new Baja as a spare.  So I'm thinking woo woo I only have to buy 3 tires!  My question is, how old is too old to put a tire into service?  Code on the tire reads: DOT UTP6 MA2 2905.  Which if I'm not mistaken means that the tires were made in 2005.  The tire is brand new and does not appear to have ever touched the road.  So what do you guys think?  Am I spending $660.00 for 3 new tires or $880.00 and keeping a 6 year old brand new spare?
