First gen odometer
« on: Oct 23, 2011, 04:18:08 PM »
I've got a first gen and the odometer stopped working today. The 1/10's still turns and the speedometer still works fine, but the mileage isn't turning over like it used to. Is this an easy fix? What do I need to look for when I take the cluster apart?

My speedo did the same thing bout 4 months ago.  Still havent fixed it but I plan to just swap another speedo in that I have here.
Ill see if I can fix mine and tell ya how it went.  Im thinking its the gears inside but its hard to say.  Maybe its just the speedo cable isnt seated far enough into the gauge.

Same thing happened with my 83. Gears locked up and broke replaced with another speedometer.

Dang, that wasn't what I was wanting to hear! I was hoping it would be something semi-easy!

Mine stopped working as well and I had to swap in a different cluster.  Keep an eye out in the for sale sections.
