« on: Oct 16, 2011, 08:10:44 AM »
I hope this is in the right section. I just picked up an 87 4runner that has been sitting for the last ten years. I'm just not sure where to start on this the motor is in pieces in the back its a 22re with five speed.

you might be better off getting a used engine thats complete, and a Haynes manual so you can see where all the hoses go.  before you ever try to start it drop that gas tank and remove the sending units and fuel pump and drop a few feet of tow chain in and shake it till your arms are rubber to remove all the rust thats accumulated over the past 10 years

Ok the motor is missing a lot of the bolts I think I might try to find a donor truck for parts.
