Do 1986 4runners have a gas light?

You run it until it sputters, then you turn reserve on...............

hahahaha I ran mine out yesterday. DOH!! I was moving it in and out of the garage, running around the block on little test runs after lowering it, aligning it, changing the shocks, tune up........it sputtered......died and as I was sitting there thinking hhmm I must not have tightened the distributor or something.............the gas light came on. hahaha I didn't even know it had one.

Its called look at the guage

my gauge works to halfway then reads empty. so i rely on that light

You have a trip meter right?? Fill it. Run it out and see what your mileage is. I DD an 85 w/ no working gas cause for 3 years. Never ran out of gas.

so did your light came on than you  immediately you ran out of gas

We once had an 86 4Runner we bought new. Once gas light came on we usually got around 20 miles before we ran out. My wife is the one that figure that out. More than once.

My 88 has a bulb in the dash for it. I always wondered if it had one. Never worked. I was replacing burned out bulbs and saw it had one in that position that was burned out. Replaced it but, it still doesn't work. Replaced the fuel sender once too. Still doesn't work. Ran it out of fuel and no light. Not sure if it ever worked.
