Hi, I have a 86 short bed that I am putting together.  The truck is going to be my daily driver and I live in Alaska so I'm going to be doing a lot of winter driving on less than perfect roads.  I'm keeping the IFS so I was thinking of a Detroit TrueTrack for the front and something selectable for the rear.  My question is does anybody have any thoughts on the Yukon Zip locker?  I've been looking around for any reviews on it but all that I can find is a little bit of older stuff.  Should I just stick with the ARB, or is the Zip a good locker?  Also if you've had any experience with a Detroit in the back of a short bed I would like to hear your thoughts on that also.  Thanks.

I hadn't found that one yet, thanks, I found the one where someone did an install.  I'm still trying to find out any recent thoughts on them.  From what I have read on other forums Yukon has changed them a bit from when ARB did that test.

I've never run anything but a Detroit or ARB. I won't go back to the Detroit if that tells you anything about the ARB.

Thanks, looks like it's just a question of ARB or Zip then.  I grew up with a 80 Yota that had 5:71's and Detroits front and rear, but it had 40in tractor tires on it so I never got much road experience with them.
