grizzly vs detroit

I am working on my 85 truck with 488 gears and swamper 34s.  I want to add an auto locker in the rear,  not sure which one is better.

Do some research and decide for yourself. All you will get here are opinions on which one people like better, not necessarily which one will be best for your application.

I doubt you'd notice any difference between the two once they were installed.  They are both mechanical automatic lockers.  The Detroit sells for $545 vs. the Grizzly at $485.  I suspect that the Grizzly is a solid quality product (Yukon Gears perform very well), but Detroit is probably the most proven differential on the market, sort of like Warn is for winches (you know what you're getting).  If it were my money I'd get the Detroit.

If you're looking to save some money, then consider a "lunchbox" Aussie Locker that sells for $289 and doesn't require as much in the way of installation.
