Would you trust harbor freight quality locker in your rig?

400 plus 100 ship.  toy elocker wont fit in my lc axle. Im in the market on selectable cheap locker. I found that the chinese made air locker is by far stronger then the Yukon zip locker. Saw that test from ARB manufacturer with there own locker and Yukon zip locker and the chinese air locker.

By compared the three locker test data from ARB manufacturing here's the list.

ARB: axle broken at 6900 ft-trq. No locker damaged.
China air locker: 6500 ft-trq. gears and piston damaged only.
Yukon zip locker: 6200 ft-trq. Case, gears, cross shaft and piston damaged.

Not to bash on anyone products. Is what i got from the person who tested. Just trying to fine a cheap and still reliable locker. So what do y'all think?

How many ftlbs does it take to break the axle?

If the axle breaks first,  the locker won't be breaking........

ya but the arb stayed together at 6900 when the axle snapped.

The Taiwan one grenaded at 6500,     seems like a no brainer.  :dunno:

I was just reading this a while ago,   he's runnin 39.5s with e-lockers and says he hasn't had a problem with them.  and he's a rock brawler so you know this thing see's the hammers regularly.

I wont even buy hose clamps made in China. Its very challenging not to buy Chinese stuff, but I now consider it a hobby.  :usa:

It is challenging. I try as hard as I can not to, but I cannot claim to be 100% free of chinese made products quite yet. We do our best to buy as many American made products as we can. When it comes to my vehicles, I stay very far away from Chinese made parts and products.

I don't know why you would want to go cheap on something like this? I mean if you're going to spend $400 on a Locker, why not save up for the extra month or 2 and get the one you don't have to gamble on? I mean what's going to save you money in the long run? 3 Chinese Lockers? or 1 ARB?  :twocents:
Wait... What?

This is all fun and games if you trailer. I have to drive mine home. 3 days in to a trail and you have a grenaded rear end, it becomes no matter of price at that time. I personally don't care if it even has a lifetime warranty with free exchange. Parts always seem to go bad at the worst time. Guarantee when your pulling your axles out in the snow and rebuilding your 3rd so you can weld your spider gears (if you happened to have any) you'll be saying "damn Chinese". You'll be wishing you'd paid 1000 for the arb at that time.

Or your driving and the unit seases and locks up your rear on the freeway.

The problem with Chinese parts usually is the qc

Some things you just can't cheap out on in this game and this is one.
