what flat-screen TV?
« on: Jun 20, 2011, 08:56:51 PM »
Im looking at buying a new flat screen tv. the big bulky tv is getting old and am in the market for a new one. I went to best buy to look around and get advice. Im pretty set on Insignia. Made by a good company but not super expensive. Im just wondering who has them and how they like them. ive narrowed the list down to 3 tv's...

Insignia- 55" 1080p LED/LCD
Insignia- 50" 720p Plasma
Insignia- 55" LCD

I may not be so much help on the type you get...but, if you've got HD cable or satellite don't waste your time on 720. Only my opinion, but, plasma is incredibly clear.

plasma is crazy clear! but just like a computer screen you have to tip them forward or back depending on the light. 55" led/lcd is deffinatly the better deal. $500 off and 36 months no interest.

Never heard anything good about insignia.  Does it have to be in the 50" range?  You may look into spending the same for a smaller, higher quality tv.  I'm a bigger fan of Philips than I am of Samsung, and some Philips actually use the same tube as a Samsung.

As far as plasmas go, you may want to look into burn in resistence, which panasonic is supposed to be very good about.
