is there a list of the grand prize raffle items yet?

Not yet. I can't promise this, but expect to see items along the lines of...

  • Transmission Rebuild of Your Choice
  • Competition 4.70:1 Total-Spline Gear Kit
  • Xtreme Duty Dual Case Adapter Kit

Before anyone asks...

Don't worry. We are still working on the best way to run the raffle! I want to apologize for the inconsistency of the ticket numbers due to packs of 50. Thank you to those of you who had to write down multiple series of numbers. And I really can't complain that we sold too many tickets for the drum to be used. :D Hopefully next year we will have the selling of tickets working smoothly and most peeps happy! :D

We need one of those booths where air circulates and blows all the tickets around in a tornado fashion to constantly stir the pot for each ticket picked or even like the one they use for the Lotto where the numbered balls drop.  :gap:

all you would really need for that is a leaf blower and a circular plastic container honestly. and then the tickets would be good and stired up, no one could complain about it then. the method of doing two prizes at once was a good idea, helped move things along, next time im gonna bring my portable heater tho, and im gonna win something!
When in doubt, skinny pedal!

The raffle was fun to watch.
Only thing I would change is. Have a girl throw out the crowd prizes next year so the guy throwing them wont get harrassed for throwing like a girl.
I think the front row got 500 coozies.
Just sayin.
Super awesome event from start to finish.
Can I come in today and register for the next 10 events please?
If I hit it just right, I might make it.

I've even seen where shirts were shot into a crowd with a relatively low powered air cannon. The shirts were rolled up to fits loosely to the cannon barrel. :gap:

I like the shirt cannon idea. Is it too early to call dibs on being the shirt cannon operator for next year? I could mount it on top of my wagon and we could have a mobile assault shirt cannon firing thingy. Then I could drive around camp shooting shirts at people. I think it'd be an awesome wake up call. Get smacked in the side of the head with a shirt.

There was a 4Runner on eBay a couple weeks ago that had a nitrogen cannon mounted on the roof.
If I hit it just right, I might make it.

If this Shirt firing air cannon thingy comes to fruition can I at least have dibs on firing the first crowd bound shirt? :gap:

I like how ya'll had 2 prizes being raffled at once - kept things rolling.

One question both my mom and I had though: Why were there so many prizes per prize? Why not spread them out a little bit more so that more people could win? Some of the prizes had 5-6 gift certificates, AND a goodie bag, AND something material. Just sayin'

Agreed!

It was more of a time issue. I wish we could have done all items one at a time. More chances of winning something. We started out with small amounts but when Tony says speed it up we do what he says. ;) However, now that we have a system down we can move quickly and send out fewer items at once.

Sweet!! I am not complaining by any means though  I think this year was a great success and organized well! Already looking forward to next year  :disturbed:

Glad everyone enjoyed the raffle!  The two item concept was developed by me to keep things rolling.  I often also have a vehicle specific items to help ensure a vehicle specific item gets to the person who has that type.

On single items... better in that more folks win, not so better with regards to time and what you won.

and Yes, I noted to my shirt tosser to run and gun, not be looking for attention.  We'll do better next year.

and remember, it's in support of the cause, and winning is just a bonus.

Huge kudos to Crystal and Big Mike for the effort they put forth.  I cannot tell you how much effort a raffle takes, and I am not referring to calling the numbers.  Matter of fact, I guarantee the raffle effort is not over (thank you letters).

See you all next year...

Tony

Many, many thanks to you Tony!! It is very easy to loose track of time and I am glad you kept us on track! :) I should be done with thank you letters just in time to start asking for next years donations. ;)

Chrystal, the raffle was awesome!  I could not believe all of the cool prizes that were given away.  It's a good thing when you have to worry about a raffle taking possibly too much time. ;-) Thank you!
