Caster Wedges?
« on: May 23, 2011, 11:07:42 AM »
im in a money bind and have to much positive caster for my liking, i cant rotate the knuckles at the moment as my welder took a crap on me. I was at the local auto parts store and they have these caster wedges, i have a few questions about them, are these safe on my front axle? what about the huge hole for the center pin? and what about my center pin?( it wouldnt even contact the leaf spring pad, and it definitely would not go in to the center hole on the spring perch) thanks in advance.

You can use 3 degree shims on the front axle without any issue.  Ive run them on mine for some time now and I daily drive my rig.
I have 3 sets of them here if your interested.
If you check the angle of your pinion and post back.  I can give you an idea of how far your off.

Remember to use a new center pin and u can get appropriate length. There not too pricy and are weakened if u torque em down multiple times. Replace now so u wont have one break on the trail
