If your asking this question then you should probably do some research.  Setting gears in a diff is precision work, and if its not done right, then they will fail.  Good luck.

Short easy answer:  a Press.

As was spoken above though, if you didn't know this to begin with, you might want to do some research for setting up diff gears.

If your still wondering how to take out the pinion ill tell you. just cause I'm feeling nice today. :slap:
To remove the pinion gear,( i assume that you have already taken out the diff).
the flange on the front side where the drive line gos into the diff. in the center of that flange theres a built.
And that's your Boy.

but do your homework so you know what your doing when you set the gears. it will go better for you in the long run.

you will need to remove the front tire, brake calipers, backing plate bolts, lockout hub, drive hubs, inner axle shaft (aka birfields) then the dozen or so 12mm bolts around the third member.  get the diff on a bench and use a impact with 32mm socket and loosen the pinions nut, now 17mm drops the carrier bearing retainer bolts, at this point the carrier will fall out.  NOW you should be able to put your hand on the pinion gear, put that 32mm socket back on whip that nut on off and pull it out and kiss it.
someone thats done it before will take 4 hours. someone who hasnt 8-10 hours
