Ifs width rear disk brakes???
« on: Apr 29, 2011, 08:30:05 PM »
Ok, I picked up a rear ifs width axle that had disk brakes at one point but now it doesn't have the calipers or rotors. I have tried three different rotors and none of them will fit over the end of the axle flange.

Can anyone give me an idea of what rotors I should try next? I have tried fj60, Tacoma, and 94 runner...

Please and thanks

Chevy 2wd 1500 rotors with monte carlo calipers.

Or if you are trying to keep it all yota use 79-85 front solid axle rotors and calipers.

Neither are a direct bolt on swap, but there is a TON of info on how to do them on most of the forums.

You dont want to run the larger calipers as they will apply too much braking power to the rear (even with a LSPV), i know some people have said they got them to work good, but it will work better with a smaller single piston caliper in the rear.

It has a bracket for Toyota caliper. The po said that it had floating rotors that were Toyota as well

People have used taco calipers, 2nd gen 4runner front calipers, solid axle front calipers, DavezOffroad sells a rear disc all toyota setup.  Not sure what setup was on it before, but look at the link i sent, it has a ton of different threads regarding rear disc swaps.

Post a picture of your bracket, might help identify it.
