FATB0Y

I need all the info I can get... the to do's and the not to do's...I don't want the extreme. I'm not gonna crawl rocks (only cuz there isn't any around here) Just want it to look and drive like it's should and to be done RIGHT if it can't be done RIGHT than I'm not gonna do it. :tantrum: cuz   I DO NOT WANT TO Fu(K UP my truck !!!  :tantrum: I'm planing on 34's or 36's and I know I need Gears and lockers.  I'm planning on Marlin's SAS kit cuz it would be quicker than building my own. Any Info would great and thanx in advance.

Bwahahahaaha sorry I just had to vote for selling and buying a heep!  But no dont do it!!  Id buy the basic kit from Marlin.  Id basically use everything that the kit offers except the springs, shackles and shocks.  The rest is good stuff indeed.  Id like to tell you to get the whole kit springs included but Im a cheap bastid and I build my own springs that in my humble opinion are at least comperable in performance but cheap.
Full hydro, 186:1 with an auto and 44's what could go wrong??

BLACKDOG

How about you provide the parts, and I will ship my truck out to you to practice on??  That way you'll know just what to do to do the SAS.

Well load up the truck and bring it on :yesnod:

FATB0Y

I know I can do the swap with out a doubt  :yesnod:   all I'm wanting  to know is what is the best way to go..least amount of down time and least amount of damage to my wallet

FATB0Y

But like I said I don't need anything fancy cuz it's not gonna be a rock crawler just a DD and a weekend warrior   When I SAS it...I might even go off the Highway and get it dirty

definately smell Heep customer here

donkeykong

Simple and fast, but more money is the kit from marlin.  Takes more time and effort, but cheaper is building everything your self.  If you go thte money to do it get the kit that way you have everything and you know they are quality parts, if money is very limited just start gathering the peices and when you finally gathered everything then start. Just My two cents

Go with a basic kit. Then order some Rancho 44044's wagoneer springs. If you need some help doin' the install give me a call, I'll see if I can lend a hand(or a plasma cutter and some pretty decent welding skills). Here's a recent one and it even looks like your rig
That's how I roll

Heres my 90 (soon to be titled as a 94 due to the 90 not being tabbed for 5 years and thus requiring an inspection.  Yes I have the titles for both vins, I know that my rig would NEVER pass a state inspection :gap:)

I'm the only one that voted sell your truck and buy a SA truck...  :dunno:

Only reason is $$$.

For example, you can get very well built trucks for the $5-8K range - trucks that people have a good $20K into.  Your truck as it sits is worth that range as well (at least up here in MN).  You could end up with a nice DD/capable wheeler all setup with gears, lockers, SAS, Crawler, etc... for a total investment of less than parts would cost you for your SAS; anywhere from $0 - 2K, maybe.

You have a nice truck...  If you have attachment to it, then consider the SAS.  If you are not overly attached to it, then sell it and buy another truck.  I'm getting to the point of considering trades for my, since it's been sitting for so long...

I'm the 2nd owner of this truck It had 113k on it when I got it about 1.5 years ago. It looked almost new when I got it. NO dents dings or scratches and paint was not faded.Inside looked great no tares in seats the back seats looked like they never been folded down. Was kept in temp.Controled building.Looked brand new under hood and underneath. So I plan on keeping it.

Keep it, SAS it, wheel it. We need more 3rd gen trucks with solid axles under the front of them.
That's how I roll
