1983 toylet

Necessary home improvements & economic hardship forces me to sell my project truck for the last 10 years.  It's originally a 1983 Toyota  4x4 short bed, though much has changed....
Engine:
4.3 Vortec V6 out of a 92 Chevy Blazer (200hp) (approx 80k miles?)
Northwest Offroad motor mounts
Advance Adapters 4-core radiator (will cool a V8)
Dual Electric Fans (Switch controlled) from Summit Racing
Eddlebrock Headers
Painless Wiring Harness
Drivetrain:
700R4 Auto transmission (B&M shift kit) and stock t-case (AA adapter plate)
Newer marlin crawler highsteer with front diff armor & axle truss.
Front:  Detroit EZ locker w/ 5.29's vented rotors w/ larger calipers- wheel spacers installed
Rear: Detroit full locker w/ 5.29's (both f/r gear/lockers installed by marlin)
Have ready for install rear axle w/ diff armor from 90's newer 4Runner... FJ80 big bore master cylinder installed
Lift:
3" body
3" rancho springs w/ RS9000's
3" confer shackles
Protection:
Allpro rock sliders
Allpro in-cab cage
Newer Smittybuilt front bumper (winch mount ready) w/ Hella lights
Smittybuilt rear bumper
Tires & Wheels:
35" BFG Mud Terrains
15x10 alloy wheels
Full size Spare Included
Interior:
B&M auto shifter (T-bar style)
Bucket Seats (from honda?)
Newer interior (headliner/carpet/door panels)
Pioneer stereo w/ 6 1/2" infinity component speakers, Pioneer 6x9 speakers behind seats

Many extras (tried to build this truck to be a DD, but ended up needing more passenger space)
Has CA smog sticker and was last Reg in 2008 (non-op license since)... buyer responsible for smog

The bad:  engine runs rich (was told it was the O2 sensor placement as the exhaust had to be custom made)  Exhaust currently has a crack before the cat converter.  I was told that the torque converter is wrong for this transmission, it takes a heavy foot to keep her stopped.  The front driveline is in need of replacement as well as the transfer case mount (UPDATE--> MARLIN HD T-CASE MOUNT INSTALLED!).  Body isn't perfect & has primered pass door & tailgate.
Other than that its been a fun truck and I hate to see her go.

Well over 10k invested in this truck asking $3,000
Located in CA, 2 hrs north of Sacramento (Cottonwood, CA)

Truck currently has an ugly white Brahama camper shell for storage (hydraulics work at least).  Have rear bench seat that fits between fender wells, 3" wider (90's 4 runner) rear axle w/ TG diff armor(installed) & allpro perch mounts the U-bolt-less ones & shock mounts (not installed) painted & ready to be welded on.  Comes with a flex a lite fan and a box full of spare/random parts.  Also have extra t-case... had so many more plans for this truck but sadly it has to go....

Would be worth the drive.  I've spent the last couple of nights cleaning her up changing fluids ect, new pics will be added soon.  Replaced O2 sensor and she's running a lot cleaner

Thanks Dingman!... perhaps its the economy?!  I challenge anyone to do this swap for what I'm asking... I know bill from the shop that finished the swap was an easy $2K and that was labor as I had provided most everything else!

Dingman.

A lot of people pay about that for a stock rig.  Yours already has a hell of a lot of work done.

Hell a new exhaust and a new torque converter and it sounds like it should be legit.
I would hold off, I hope you could find a buyer soon seems like a really worthy truck.

I kind of wanted to sell my truck a while back and people seemed interested but because it wasn't ca approved nobody wanted it.
I think it has to do a lot with being smoggable.  Since yours is legal I'm surprised it isn't gone yet.

Maybe if u smogged it first it would go easier, but I still think its a damn good deal.

I agree that this is a deal.  There looks to be 2 other trucks with the same swap on the for sale forum and they are both going for $3K more than what I'm asking.  It has been smogged in the past, and I have an idea why it's running rich as it is.  If I put in the time to fix that and have it smogged obviously the price would be affected, hence the price I'm asking.  Thanks again Dingman

i want this truck
Thanks, hate to get rid of it but have to... had a mechanic run a diagnostic and he thinks its either a bad alternator or the throttle position sensor that is causing it to run rich

Why has this truck not sold?  I had a truck like this 20 years ago.  This is a killer deal or am I missing something?

I'm asking myself the same question.... I'm thinking that it's because its "buyer smog" which can scare people away.  But the thing is, the truck has passed CA smog and has the sticker to prove it.... at this point with a little engine work someone can have a powerful crawler at a killer price. I'm open to trades for a bass boat/commuter car/ or motorcycle of equal value...
