I have heard good things about both.  Personally I have only run the BFG KM2, they are good for rock, I didn't like them for snow or loose dirt/gravel-THink the the orignal BFG mud terrain were better.

I have heard good things about that Goodyear, but haven't run them to give my  :twocents:

Just looking at them I would go with the KM2's between the two.

Which set is cheaper?  That might help you decide too....

km2, read tacorunners comparison between the 2, he's cut the sidewalls on less km2/ krawlers in 5 years then he has in a year or 2 with the new mtrs

Thanks nimyad. That's exactly the type of feedback.I was hoping for.

I write for a mag, in all honesty, nearly all tires are good when they first come out, then after a while we start bagging on it because you, I or someone else starts blowing them out, then they become crap. Then we hate them and something new comes out and we love it. The new MTR is a good tire in the wet. The BFG is not. If I were driving more rock then sloppy wet, I'd take the BFG. If its the other, well then I'd pick the other. With that said I think the new MTR wears faster then the BFG. Just from what I've seen from a former employer of mine. And I still believe the BFG has a better sidewall.

So I started this thread about a month ago. I bought the km2 and took them for their first run this weekend. Aired them down to 4 psi and they rocked. My rig has dual cases, locked in the rear and open in the front. I was able to just creep in low low any where I wanted. I was  surprised because I didnt think they would do that good. If they were this good in the snow I cant wait for some rock!!!

heard the km2 wasnt outstanding in the snow and had poor lateral traction in wet conditions. Now I don't know what to believe lol!

I have first hand experience with km2's suckin in snow, but it was wet heavy snow. We dont get much of that so called "powder" here in Az.

On the road with ice and snow pack they sucked (81 shortbed on 35/12.50) but in every single condition I was ever in Offroad they worked flawlessly

I can't comment on road on ice pack. But on un packed snow I was able to go pretty much any where I wanted!

You won't care for em if you ever do drive in ice/snow pack. But even with knowing that I'd buy them again in a heartbeat and plan on it when my tires now wear out

agreed  ice  not good . i was going to have mine sipped and see if that would help . other than that i have been happy with them

muddywaters

the KM2 has been a great tire for me.  on rocks they just plain work.  in the soupy mud they work ok, but my light rear end would always wanted to slide out.  that didnt happen with tsls.

on the street they are one of the most civilized MT's out there. ride smooth and wear awesome despite them being soft.  for the last three winters, though, when the ice comes, i just sit and spin.  the large tread blocks just have no traction on the ice.  the mtr/kevlar might be better in that situation...i dont know.
Im like Hugh Hefner minus everything good about his life.
