they have some one setting up gears that has no clue what their doing so you would be better setting them up your self. read the threads about the tranny problems people are having. not knockin on them but they don't really have any quality control now a days.
...why buy when you can build?
yeah, I'm currently running dual stock cases w/ twin sticks conversion in the rear case for about 2yrs and it has done me alot of justice so far.
do you really need to do the 4:70 now? i would just send them a message to get atleast an idea of when they will be back in stock. if its not to long and you can wait... then do so and save some coin. if its going to be a while maybe then you could do the crawl box idea.
called Marlin today and the earliest delivery will be in middle of Aug.
called every where....Low Range, Davez off roadand even TG is Out of Stock. Nodbody has just gears in stock, only crawl boxes.
Here's how I'd make the decision. First, you have to determine how much benefit you're really going to get from having lower gears and how much of it is a bling factor. With dual cases you have plenty low gears for most wheeling. Second, you need to determine how much your time is worth on this project. If you're not familiar with the gear install it'll take you a few hours to do the swap and there is always a risk that you could do it incorrectly. I know that part of the install is clearancing the case housing for the larger gears and this could take some time using the trial and error method. Third, is the $225 difference in cost significant for you? Will it squeeze your budget significantly and/or prevent you from purchasing something else that you need or want? Finally, you have to combine these things and make a choice before the assembled cases are also out of stock.
Then don't wait. If you wait, it'd be like saying, "Oh that's fine that you don't have yet another part in stock Marlin Crawler, I'll just wait half a year because you can't keep stocked shelves."
finally got my Marlin 4.70's, thanks for your inputs.
Save your money and just wait cause it'll be worth your while.
