2000 Nissan Frontier CC 4x4 SE
« on: Feb 26, 2011, 04:23:29 PM »
Thinking about selling and wanted to gauge interest...and to see if ya'll pick on me for the price    I hate to get ride of this...

I can register the truck if it will make the deal (in AZ)...

Located in Lakeside, AZ.  Asking $1,600 OR BEST OFFER.  If certain pics are wanted let me know.  I need to wash it but it is pretty cold outside today (hopefully clean it tomorrow).  Title in my name but it has not been registered.  It has only been in my name for about 4 months...

2000 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab, 4x4, 3.3L V6.  197,000 miles
Power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise, CD player...everything works and I have tested it all.
I have been driving this around behind the house on the Forest Service property  :lipsrsealed: and it runs good.

2 BIG problems: the motor has a tap.  It sounds like valves.  I changed the oil with 15w-40 and the tap is completely gone when it is in gear...but once you start going you can hear it.  Makes me believe it is the valves.  2nd problem: reverse just crapped out on it last week.  I am going to check the linkage and also the fluid but right now it is not working.

It will need new shocks (rides like a 70's cadillac right now) and it will need new tires soon.  Minus the 2 big problems everything about it is good.  I actually still make sure everything is good from time to time to keep the battery (new battery) charged.  I still drive it from time to time ont he Forest Servce Property.

The last guy got frustrated because the button for the A/C would always go out.  He added the toggle switch (you can see it in the pic) that turns on/off the A/C.

There is also a rip in the seat that I didn't get when I took the pictures of the driver seat.  All other seats are good to go and clean (just shampooed a few weeks ago).  When I did the shampoo I actually took all the seats out so I could clean under the seats and did the shampoo job inside (stupid cold weather).

Ok, I guess that is it but wanted to share everything.

have you tried puting it up on craigslist?

there are lots of people on there looking to buy cars that are craped and they fix em on the cheap and re sell em for 3x the price so u never know.

edit: and from the pics it looks really clean so put it up for 3k and see if u get any nibbles

Craigslist is nothing but scammers and dealers looking to flip it for a profit.  I tried selling my current car recently and CL was a total waste of time and effort.  The best offer I got on a nearly perfect vehicle that has a private party value of 4K was 2K.  Only one legitimate buyer bothered to show up but was such a tire-kicker as I've ever seen in my life.

Yup, it is on craigslist right now.  It may come down to me just replacing the tranny and the heads for it to sell.  I have already started to look around for the parts...I know some people would rather just drive away with it (and be able to back up) so maybe it is worth my time.

Until I decide to just fix it hopefully somebody will check it out...

still here...it can be driven back to your house but plan accordingly since reverse is not working.  I wouldn't exactly take it on a road trip though.
