Engine Rebuild

I have completed tearing down of the engine, right now we are just about to start bolting back together. This was a fun project... not.
This picture is the valves and bottom of heads.

THis one shows, from left to right, rockers, timing chain cover, intake manifold, rocker manifold, and intake.

This one shows a bunch of random peices that were taken off, along with a bunch of bolts.

I´m also rebuilding my engine it´s a 22 re and i was woundering what camshafts are you putting instead for the orginal one ??  And also if you guys have any  tuning tips for my?

I just kept the stock camshaft, extra uneeded work that i didnt want to do. And a couple of tips, CLEAN!!  clean everything twice! it really helps, and also... mark ure vac tubes and bolts when u take them off, its really not fun trying to guess where things go :(

HAHAHAHAHA LOL.... :hahaha: Listen I hear ya....How bout doing a ground up resto job,to enclude rebuilding a chevy V6 and tranny ...In one's back yard...Because I have no garage...DID I mention its rainy season here in the islands.. :bull crap:

Don't forget to CHANGE the timing chain keepers.....Get new ones.!

looks good buddy,  how come you pulled it down tho??   bad valves??  rings??

do the pistons wiggle in the bores at all??

Ya i did mine out in the cold with it still in my truck!! No the pistons are fine, as with the valves. I pulled the parts due to anti-freeze smell in exaust and water in oil... gaskets and rings replace time!! Yah, i need to get it running... we are back up to bolting the intake manifold back on. I go to school 845-2, then i work from 4-11 everyday... i dont get much free time, friday and monday i have off, and saturday and sunday i dont go in till 6 and 5, so i can get some damn work done. Got a friend coming over tommarrow while im at school to get some of the stuff back on, then we gotta get the timing right, and hope the b*std works :thumbs: :-\\ ill let you know what i get done tommarrow

sounds like the timing chain keepers broke and the chain ate through the housing....Did you replace the housing?

No thats fine... everything is good now cept we are trying to get the timing right with the distributor :-\\ i hope it works!!
