Okay I have had this truck in my family since it was new. My dad bought it new and drove it for many years, then it turned into a ranch truck. It stopped running a couple years ago and we just let it sit.

Here are some pcs of my truck, this is what happens when you let a truck sit for several years in the monterey bay area.

those pictures are from at least 6 months back  It was before i took it to school and started taking the whole truck apart in auto body class. I now have all the rust off the doors and front fenders and have bought a new bed and cab for it because the rust was so bad on it. will have more pics up soon of how it looks now.

very nice first truck. i wish i would have bought a toyota as my first rig. i started the long way around and did not find my yota love till 21. keep it and build it nice and functional. first gens are sweet.

here are some pictures of what the truck looks like now. i have the bed and cab off of the frame and i am cleaning the frame up. i recently pulled the engine for a full engine rebuild. The back of the frame i have cleaned up and painted black already. The front needs some cleaning up since it is full of baked on oil from the engine.

i need all the help i can get. i want to turn this truck into a good off road/rock crawler, but also be a dd. I want to lift it and make it nice. All help is much appreciated. will have pics of new cab and bed up soon

I have a 1980 , I put some Allpro springs and hangers on it , I'm not finished yet
Just slowly getting parts !!  My build is sc crawlers build
Idk there's some stuff , your truck is long bed !!   You should have a better wheel base!!

Ha that's funny Milam's Auto Body class. I was in it for most of my senior year working on my 67.

I wish I could of taken advantage of everything there when I went. gets expensive quick when you have to buy it on your own.

Thank you santa cruz crawler, I will definetly look into the all pro springs, how much where they for u and do u have to change the mounting spots or does it use the original.

Damn u have a sick ass truck. Is the bob worth it and is it hard. Also what gears are u running with those 35s and what size lift

ya the bob is nice. but i took out 12in out of the bed and i can barly fit a 35in spare and a tool box..  but my buddy  did the bob cause hes a better welder and it took us 6 hours cause of the rest in the bed, but worth it, and a tool box. and i have the stock 4.10s with the rear welded and the front open. and i have chevy s-10 2wd rear with the over load spring out. and i have my rears up front mixed with izuzu trooper rears cut down. idk how much lift that is, and it wheels fine and drives down the road good to.

O ok well someone told me I have stock like 430 or somethin like that

if you have the 4 speed. you have stock 4.37s. but girlfriend just bout a 80 and she has 4.37s but we swaped a 5 speed (l52) out of a 83 it should be better then the 4 speed

you could go 529s or 488s but i have a tired 22r with 4 10s and 35s and i do fine around town and on the freeway

in my old 79 i had 4.37s and 35 tsls and still did 75 80 down the freeway

I had a 67 chevy caprice as my first car. Did all the work I could in auto body.

That truck looks like it's coming along good, I've always liked the look of first gens.

And u had a 20r? Where the rpms high when Goin 75-80 or did it run normal. What size lift did u have on ur 79

Ya peterbuilt its comin along. I have been workin on it since august and its taking a long time since I can only work on it an hour a day cuz of class.
