anyone elses shifter boot falling aprt?     what other options has anyone tried .. aftermarket wise or salvage yard swap....show me what ya got

I perfer the stock ones because they are 2-3 layers and seal real well. I found one that was in great condition at a a P-N-P. it had been covered by a console all its life, like new.

can you still order new ones at the dealer? i haven't had any luck finding one in good shape for my uncle at the yards.

I think you can get the rubber part from the dealer, and the leather part can be made

If you are referring to the leather or vinyl boot, it is fairly easy to make your own, using the old cover as a pattern.
'90 black X-cab mod'd 3.0, 33's/4.88's, rear ARB, custom bumpers, sliders, safari rack, etc.
'91 Blue X-cab 22re, 35's/5.29's,Truetrac front, ARB rear, dual cases, and custom Safari flatbed, bumper, interior.

yeah would have done that but my old one had been replaced in a former life... an was very deteriorated

I got the vinyl one and the rubber one under it for $2 at the local junk yard along with a fj62 jack with tool kit
