One happy Philippino...He got the motor for nothing...Sort of a finders fee. After the word got out around the island. People started offering me Big $$ for the motor.... :dunno:     Oh well

Up and away.....Hope it fits....1988 4runner manufactored in March of 89..Making it one of the last 1st generation 4runners to roll off the assembly line... :wag:

get that chassis outta here. I was gonna take the fuel tank and add an extra tank. But in my excitment. Gotta way.
Chuck

See ya....As you may have noticed ALL this work was done out side...No garage or shop...Not fun :smack:
Chuck

The operator was not an able driver.. I found out later that when they left {we have a steep grade and a narrow drive exiting the property} He tore up a fence post and ran over some plants... :hammer: and kept on going...
Chuck

back to business....Motor shot...Notice that I carved off the choke flute on the carb..Less restrictions...Air grinder..Tailor wires EBAY
Chuck

ezthere

front shot of the engine...Those are all new brake lines..The master brake cylinder is out of a 1995 4runner and is iron. Not the cheap alum.
Chuck

ezthere

Moroso Cool can...More for "coolness" then power & speed factor..It will help cool the engine on those hot days..The carb will be a more efficient heat sink.....looks cool
Chuck

ezthere

Now your thinking "how will you drain the water out of the cool can? :dunno:  Drill a hole in the wheel well. see pic :driving:
Chuck

Bud Built crossmember. Line-x'ed of course.. You can see the AA adapter mating the tranny and the transfer box

Instruments...Autometer procomp tach, oil pressure, oil temp & water temp...

Thats Pamala Anderson adorning my rear view..She smells good.. :rockingout: .From what I hear gives good knober.

The dash was from my 85...The odometer was reset to zero...That was a pain..I used a reversable drill on the tumbler..20minutes and 96k miles later zero...

What crazy rebuild would complete with out an hour meter... :bandit: It fit nicly where the parking brake used to reside...I will put a line lock in the rear..Just to pass inspection... :crazyhappy:
Chuck

Notice the new headlite bezels...Your local toyota dealer is your best friend with this kind of rebuild...

The future holds a new set of carpet pieces...Racing seats with 4 pt belts. 4.88 gears, detroit lockers.New grill and head lite doors..It's been allot of work..But light is at the end of the tunnel...

Oh the wife hates this thing..More pics as I build..

That's where I stand so far... :muscles: .....Later  :bolt:
