Old Guy, New Again
« on: Dec 20, 2010, 05:41:15 PM »
Just wanted to hoot a lil.

Trying to get back in the mix after being gone for about 10 years, 36" we're big back then.

Grew up in Nor Cal and used to run with Club Challenge and Pair-O-Dice 4 wheelers w/ my bobbed 83.

Have been in " :turtle:" country since 2005 and still trying to convince the wife to let me invest back into the madness!

Thanks. Very stoked to start another rig.

Although this time around, I'll have to sport a family wagon since I have to haul the wife and kids.

Definately an option. Have a buddy up here who has one that's built pretty decent. Just don't know if I care for the extra weight. I'm thinkun' a Runner is in our future.

yea but the FZJ80 comes with a BIG 4.5L inline 6 rated at  212 hp @ 4600 rpm. 275 lb-ft torque @ 4400rpm.   More than enough to haul that big ass it has well.

not to mention a full floating rear axle with rear disc factory

If I was gonna get a new family wagon I'd get an fj80.
My two boys are out growing the back seat of our 94 4runner in a hurry

X2 on the Fj80. Luckily, . . . I guess, . . . My kids are all girls and built like their mamma, short and petite. I could stuff em in the tool box. Sometimes I want too!

Hi,

Kids a little older, ready to jump back in....I get it, then had another kid! Anyway, I have been working to make my '89 Runner the family rig, but often toy with the idea of getting an FJ80 for moderate wheeling with the family.

I parked next to an FJ80 a few days back. It just looks so damn big but them four doors are pretty cool too.
