I was wondering how much lift you can put in a 1990 toyota pickup before the ball joints bind up and break

now this is what i got 1990 toyota truck rears up front 1 1/2 box drop and 6in shackles under the frame

your good

I think 14" would be starting to get alot of bump steer.
a curved steering rod would help if going that high
I ran ruf,5"shackle in frame
on 42s maybe 7"-8" lift total including hanger

i would not go anything over 5 inch lift unless its a mall crawler, but if its a wheeler everyone says you can go with alot of lift, that is true if the springs dont flex, but a set of flexxy 5" springs might have harm on those tie rods, i know i went through at least a set of tie rod ends every 6 months cause flexing wears them out fast
