Ok for awhile now Ive been wondering the the three gauge pod look alike thing is on the 1984-1988 Toyota pickups and 4 runners. What is it? I seem to me its like a compass of some sort?

its to measure the camber you are at when off road? thats just what ive allways thought? idk just my $.02

Ya thats what im guess its like an clinometer or something.

its a toyota inclinometer....has an altimeter, and tilt and roll degrees....usually off of old tercels....

tercels dont have the altimiter, only the runners did. In place of the altimiter on a tercel, is a 4x4 gauge that lights up the wheels in 4x4.  My runner has a tercel one in it. There cool little mods you can do to these. You can flip the truck pics, break the clips inside that make em stop at 30, couple other things. They all for show though, Ive been almost flopped when it said 5, and cruisin fine when it said 30.

Thanks guys for the few back. To bad there really all show and not worth it. Sounds like it would be a cool mod tho

o yeah ive had my eye on one out of a runner but havent asked the guy what he wants for it.

If you're wheeling and you wonder if you're gonna flop you're probably not going to stop and get a reading from the tilt-incline-blender-altimiter gauge pod. Most likely you'll watch the ground quickly getting closer and notice a warm moist feeling begin in your pants.

But I want one too...

LOL,  You can just glue a level to your dash, or better yet a smart level.  You can set -0- on a flat surface and compensate for your leaning suspension.
