just installed a programable thermostat, now the house takes hours to heat up and the heat coming out of the vents is luke warm and just seeping out. anyone know anything about hvac?

Is it a 2 stage furnace?

I'll bet that you only have the first stage hooked up. You'll need a 2 stage thermostat and both whie wires hooked up.

To find out if your furnace is a two stage, open the panel to access the control wiring. W1 is the first state, W2 is the second stage. Note the color of the wires going to each terminal.
