Thinking about becoming an officer in the armed services after college... some ?

I have four weeks left of classes until I graduate with a BA in Political Science. I have been on the search for jobs and there are some, but most want a higher degree or you need 2 or 5+ years of experience.

So I started thinking about how I always felt like I was missing something by not serving my country and that a five year stint (maybe a career) in the Navy or the Air Force would not be a bad deal. I realize I would be making 32,000 a year for a bit, but the other benefits out weight the salary for me.

My questions are:
-What can anyone tell me about OTS or OCS for either branch
-Can anyone tell me about intelligence analysis and public affairs careers
-Can I pursue a graduate degree in Public Administration or Policy in either of these branches
-Can you transfer your GI Bill to your significant other so she can pursue a masters also?
-Is it worth it?
-Is the experience you gain applicable to the real world?

I will probably have more questions later as this thread goes on

I cannot directly answer any of your questions, as I have no experience from an adult standpoint.
I know military service is very highly viewed when looking at civilian jobs, regardless of what they are.  I don't think you can transfer your GI bill, but if you've got it, thats one set of classes you don't have to pay for.

I did grow up with my father being a career AF officer.  It was an excellent experience for me, I got to see a good amount of the country before I was 10 years old.  My dad was never stationed overseas, but that is always an option.  It also looks extremely good on your resume if you're not interested in pursuing a full career with the military.

You need to check with the GI bill becuase it is always changing, my wife cannot transfer hers to me, but my little brother who joined shortly after can.....

as far as real word use and jobs after the service, the VA has a program called vetjobs and hire vets first, they will help you get pretty much any job you want... also, dont forget security clearance, as this will help you get other jobs both in the civilian world as well as the civilian side of the military.
Sand, what fun, drop pressure to 12psi, stock tires are still digging, can't afford to get stuck, 8psi, still not working. Find a place to GET OUT, air up, un-lock hubs,  WAIT whats this, hubs are UN-LOCKED already. 2wd, 8psi, stock tires, Oregon sand dunes.
