Yeah, swap them for a 60 and a 14-bolt.

use skymanufacturings front hanger crossover steering and marlin 4inch springs get your brake lines made and use a gm master cylinder for the 12bolt get the moser c-clip eliminator kit for gears 513s and make sure the pinion caster is 7degrees that should give you a start also what vehicle are these going in for strength add longfield ujoints

i ve said it before, and will again, i had a HIGH horse motor =TRIPLE T cases, 40s, 42s, and i wheeled the truck like i HATED IT

it had a 44 with chromos and an arb
the 12 bolt was stock with a spool and 5.38s

the 44 pooped out shafts all the time until i went to chromos, then wasnt too bad, the 12 bolt broke once in 6 years, an axle shaft, and i totally deserved it! i GUARANTEE, I would have broke a rockwell in the same spot.

is a 60 better? yep!
is the 44 and 12 bolt cheap, a dime a dozen, easy to work on, and fairly strong, yep!

GREAT CHOICE IF YOU PLAN WELL

i race cars at the speedway and i have broke a total of 5  of those c clip elim... so i would not reccomend spinning doughnuts or circle track racing for that matter lol

how fast are you spinning those tires and racing puts a whole different stress on them then crawling.

Pretty sure he isnt going to be doing 6000rpm clutch dumps, or 100mph+ thru a trail.
So that being said, I find no reason a D44 and 12B will fail this guy anymore then any other axle will.

If he had a RamJet 502 V8 or something comparable, I would totally side with you and tell him he will brake 'em.
But I highly doubt he needs 1tons, or he would of stated so.
Sounds to me like he is souly going for the width and stability.

Now I think Lil Yota should post what his vehicle is, make, model, engine, trans, tire size, tcases? and purpose.
That would really help us out.

But like stated, C-Clip Elim, Ujoint upgrade, GM 1 ton Master Cyl, and brake lines made.
you could get away with the 12B drum brakes for now if you're on a budget.

Shed some light on us though Lil Yota
