So I got a smokin deal on a 97 v6 Taco with a wasted motor. I already have a new 3.4 to go in it. The transmission I got is out of a 94 4runner v6. I'd like to adapt my t-case on the trans with the Marlin adapter for a passenger side drop to be able to use a 84 axle I have also. Anything to be aware of when doin this? Probally going to use Front Ranges kit with some Marlin springs I have also. I have and am searching!!!! This will be my first Tacoma sas.

The mini truck axles are a few inches narrower. I don't remember the numbers off the top of my head but search around u will find some stuff. IIRC the bell housing from the 3.4 will bolt to 4runner tranny and you won't need an adapter. I choose to keep mine right hand drop so what do I know.  :dunno:
stupid people shouldn't have kids.

Taco rear axles are 60.75"

and mini axles with IFS hubs and taco rotors is 58.75" or with IFS hubs and SA/FJ Rotors is 58.25"
mini rear axles are 58"

There are people who have used the Older front axles for a tacoma sas. As mentioned they are narrower then your tacoma. There are a few ways to widen it, FROR tacoma brake kit, wheel spacers, Skys front axle widening kit, Back spacing on the wheels. I personally vote to get a after market housing built for the older diff and outers from your 84 housing. You would need to use new longer inner axles to make it work.

I ain't buyin Trail Gear!!!!!! Long story about gettin burnt!!!  And Diamonds alittle more than I wanna spend right now.  I'll probably use 1" spacers in the rear with my 89 axle for now. I can't remember my back spacing on my wheels right off hand. I think it's 2.5 or 3. Not sure on the front though. I got spacers from another sas kit, but they're probably not big enough.
