What mods short of a SAS is possible with the front driveline on this vehicle?

Is the v6 IFS diff and turbo I4 diff the same?

I understand the front brake rotors are already the vented style. Will the larger 90+ v6 IFS calipers fit?

Larger brake master cylinder/booster? Anything else?

I've read Marlin state a non-turbo 85 and later head can be installed for an increase  in compression. How does this affect the turbo system?

if you have a turbo you be best off not to raise the C/R. as gas is getting cheaper (as in going to  ) and it will just ping more

Guy here almost talked me into trading my 85 Xtra Cab for his turbo'd 87 Xtra Cab. His runs good and has a nice cabin inside.

Mines more spartan and a knocking 22R. He wants mine real bad. The 87 runs good but has 225,000 miles on it, mostly hwy. I just dunno about that IFS front suspension.... Nice ride tho.

I'm kinda thinking about finding me a 1KZ-T for it. Hook it up to my R151F, V6 rear diff, FJ80 hi pinion front... Yada yada.

i'd rather have a turbo truck with high miles and IFS than a stock straight axle truck with a decent running motor.

the main reason:  the turbo drivetrain.  you get the R151F tranny and a 23 spline t-case, V6 third member and stronger housing.  perfection is just an SAS away

We're making the straight up trade tomorrow at 3pm. I'll let u know how my new aquisition feels when I bring it home that evening.    

SAS or keep it IFS, both are options to ponder. I also have a spare R151F/bellhousing/Tcase, and 90 G294 v6 rear axle, plus other goodies to fit it. So all is not a loss. I think I'm getting the best of the deal. I only have a thou in the 85.

Made the trade today.

Oh yes, what a nice truck.    Little stuff to do on it, but for a truck with 213650 miles on it she sure runs and rides good! 

I'm well pleased with it. Much better running and driving than the old 85.

Salmon and Halibut from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Rock fish and Ling cod. Trout fishing in August and September.

Duck hunting can be good. There's Canadian geese too. I'd rather hunt moose, but can turn you onto a coupla friends who love to duck hunt.

Nah, that moose would be ate before u got back to the bear republic. Moose is the largest member of the deer family. If you're packing out boned meat, you don't want to shoot one more than a mile from the road. Even then it'll take two fellas 8 or more hours to haul the meat out. A 50 to 80 inch bull will weigh 1500 or more pounds.

Besides, you'd play hell getting the meat cross the US border from Canada. Best to tell them it's farm raised buffalo. Then they'd want to see a meat inspectors stamp. Better to eat the critter in AK.

Good looking truck!  It does look fawking cold there tho...and I'm bitchin about it being 20deg here in New Mexico!
