Well I could have said a crazy flesh eating alien, I just meant comparing it to what I would think it would sound like. Definitely strange sounds mountain lions make.

Out by my place coyotes roll in packs and my dogs know better to go mess with a pack of them.... when they are in packs they are ruthless and will pretty much kill anything... i have a pitbull and a boxer and they leave them alone.... but they usually get in those packs and start howling and shrieking like they are dying but what they are really doing is killing something.... its kind of creepy especially when yuor outside working on your rig at like 1am and your alone

When I was in high school in Nor-Cal, one of the 4-H girls was raising a bunch of sheep.  She had 35 at one time, but a mountain lion kept killing them.  It wasn't eating the sheep - typically, they drag them off and bury them with leaves and come back to eat them once the carcass starts rotting.  The mountain lion was killing the sheep for sport!  The girl's dad saw it happen a couple times.  Every killed sheep was reported to fish and game, but they didn't do anything until she was down to 11 sheep left - then they finally trapped the mountain lion.  Ever since that story got out, it was a unspoken rule that if you had a mountain lion stalking your animals, shoot and bury them and don't tell anyone because the govt. wound't do anything about it untill it's too late.  In my opion, they need to have a open hunting season on them to thin out the population a bit.

When I still lived up there, our neighbor had a horse that was taken down by a mountain lion.  When they found the dead horse, they drug it off into the corner of their field (which was closest to our house) instead of burying it and the coyotes had a field day with the carcass.  One day our lab showed up on our back porch while we were eating dinner, with a half decomposed horse leg in it's mouth.  That's enough to make anyone stop eating.
We had horse hooves floating around in our garage for years after.

coyote --- usually what you turn onto after a bad night in the bar, you wake up and realise what you brought home and start chewing     

not to be confused with a

cougar ---- around 35 to 45 years of age moderate to extremely good looking with a decent body, that you will never bring home cause your to drunk.

Wish I coulda just recorded the bird like chirps the coyotes were making outside the house.  Have to wonder how many odd noises people hear that're chalked up to being made by other animals but are actually coyotes.
