22re oil pressure
« on: Jul 01, 2010, 09:47:28 AM »
I just started my 85 pickup for the first time since last fall, and i noticed that at startup the oil presure was down around 20-30 maybe a bit more and obviously it was a cold start. I didn't run it that long because i still have to fab up an exhaust for it so it was running on an open headpipe which i hate to do. I was just wondering what other yota owners rigs ran at for oil pressure or what is the recomended oil pressure for a 22re? and possibly what could be my issue here. I know this sounds bad but my dd jeep cherokee never drops below 40 . . . .ever haha so th 20 - 30 made me pretty nervous

I dont recall what psi it ran at before it sat because i built the truck over the winter, and i bought it early last fall and only bummed it around my yard a few times before i tore it down to build it up, but the motor besides fresh oil has gone un-touched, and it has 119xxx on it if thats any help

any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I just don't want to blow up my motor!!!

I have thought many times about the low oil pressure at iddle but every toyota 22re that I have owned has been this way and I've never had an issue.
